Q1. Could you tell me what is the differences between original opera and POPERA?

POPERA is a word combining popular music and a classical opera. And it is like a musical theater such as a Broadway Musical Theater.

Q2. Has there been this type of production before?
No, it is pretty new and it is the first for the stage performance.

Q3. How do you think about the music composed by a Korean composer?

The music is accessible and user-friendly, you might say. Some of songs sound much like popular songs like the one Celine Dion might sing. But there is another thing which is more operatic. Also there is one thing different about this music is that the actual notes, the range of the songs is quite large which pop singers usually sing in the smaller range even though it is also changing in the present. It is more operatic in the style of singing. But the music is a very pop style.

Q4. What do you think about POPERA RAIN?

I think it is a very nice and challenging project, which is the first stage performance as a POPERA. Also I think it is very good to work with half Koreans and half Americans to plan for this project. I can see it is very meaningful because they can work on the same goal together in learning different cultures from one and another.
