  Dear sir or madam,

I am writing to you in support of the “popera” Rain, a new musical and theatrical production in support of peace. I am Yangwoo Park, Director of the Korean Cultural service in New York, part of the Korean Consulate General in New York.

There is already great interest in Korea in this popera. Major media companies like the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), FM Seoul and the Korea Times have already signed on and are marketing the production. The Korean government, too, is lending its support.

Here is New York City, the production of rain is the result of an intense collaboration between international musicians. Composed by Hye Kyung Park, a Korean graduate of New York University, the popera will b produced by Thomas cultice, an opera singer and voice professor from Mannes College of music. Ted Taylor of the New York City Opera will conduct an orchestra made up of students from Mannes, the Manhattan School, and the Julliard School of m. Oh-Hyuk Im, a graduate student at Mannes, wrote the popera and will act as the manager for its performances.

So, as you can see, the two performances scheduled at the Kaye Playhouse in Manhattan will be the result of a great cooperation between individuals of different backgrounds, all of whom believe in the popera’s message of peace.
At this time of international uncertainty, it is important to support efforts like this, which seek to promote an alternative message to war. I hope that your organization, like mine, will be able to lend its support to this worthy and valuable project.
  Sincerely,

   Yangwoo Park

The Korean American Catholic Young Adult Movement

To Whom It May Concern

I am writing this letter to recommend this new event called the Popera “Rain”.
My name is Ken Bae and I am a founder of The Korean American Catholic Young Adult Movement called DuRe. I took great interest in writing this letter to you because I, myself work very closely with the youths in our communities. Since the Popera “Rain” has been brought together by those who believe in unity and peace amongst the nations and the young people of our generation, I wanted to take part in this great opportunity to reach out to those who may gain more knowledge and support from events such as this.

With that said, I support the Popera “Rain” with great interest and I wish all the best to everyone who are committed to this event with such passion as they are being fulfilled one step at a time, starting with this one.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you.

Sincerely,

    Ken Bea

To Whom It May Concern

Movement In Motion is a network or artist & activist that organize throughout the New York area. Since our existence on November 2002 we have organized two national tours and one international tour to India. We are a collective of dedicated individuals that have been successfully organizing within our communities and else where. Our mission is to use arts as a means to bring about social awareness and change.

We have reviewed the Pop Opera project entitled “Rain” and believe it to fit within our vision. This project is designed to promote peace and to bring awareness through performance that will capture and captive an audience of various ethnic backgrounds.

In short Movement In Motion endorses and fully supports the “RAIN” Pop Opera project and recommends that other organizations in the peace justice movement do the same.
Sincerely,
